Tramp stamp tattoo3/4/2023 ![]() ![]() Many said trashy, but there was no clear consensus. Radio One interviewed students in the Link (at 3pm on a Friday, so a clearly representative sample of students, who all spend their Friday afternoons studying) as to whether ‘tramp stamps’ are trashy or iconic. The reclamation of the lower back tattoo is a push back against the shame women have endured for their choices, especially if they are remotely sexual or sexy. They are challenging ideals built out of misogyny by getting these tattoos and owning them, therefore challenging the stereotype of what kind of woman would have such a mark indelibly on their body. Tattoos are heavily connected to a sense of bodily autonomy, and the revival of the iconic lower back tattoos links directly to women deciding to take back control of their own body image. It’s always exciting and interesting to challenge people’s idea of what makes something ‘trashy’ or lacking in class.” She says the tramp stamp “transcends a trend … Live your iconic trash queen fantasy, I say.” ![]() “I’m really interested in the idea of challenging high-brow standards in my art and that carries through to my tattoo, taking something that people generally view as ‘trashy’ and deciding to own it in a way that changes its value to something iconic and artistic. Molly says her tramp stamp “represents a moment in life for me, a freeze-frame of the person I am now and the aesthetics I find exciting.” She says it’s a way of challenging people’s preconceived notions of what tattoos represent. Instagram influencers such as and rock the stamp, as does Critic Te Arohi designer Molly. However, just like tiny sunglasses, slip dresses and baby tees, the tattoo seems to be on its way back in. Maybe this has contributed to the return of the lower back tattoo amongst the it-girls of this decade? Five years ago, lower back tattoos were arguably limited to middle aged women, and existed only as a reminder of decades past. How women represent their own sexuality is more and more on their own terms. The rise of the modern influencer (thanks, Paris) via social media has afforded women more control over who has the power to sexualise them. The phrase might be outdated now, but tramp is just another word for slut, and to call a woman a slut is just another way of shaming her for having any sense of autonomy or pride in her own sexuality. Maybe it’s just the hindsight bias, but one thing is blatantly obvious about the labelling of lower back tattoos as tramp stamps (or slag tags, if you watched Skins at age 13). They were somehow simultaneously high-class and trashy, sported by millionaires and A-list celebrities as they drunkenly stumbled between clubs in front of paparazzi. The tramp stamp was often sported with low rise jeans and a high rise g-string, together forming the iconic whale tail. Before this, tattoos were uncommon on women. But why does the lower back tattoo evoke such strong reactions, even today? What’s the deal with its comeback?Īccording to Wikipedia, lower back tattoos came as part of the growing number of women getting inked up in the 1990s. Worn by the biggest and best icons of the 2000s – Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Kate Moss to name a few – the tramp stamp lives alongside jeans under dresses, ultra skinny scarves and velour tracksuits as an absolute hallmark of the decade. But is there a justified reason for the ink’s bad reputation, or is it just good old-fashioned sexism? ![]() Love them or hate them, lower back tattoos are back.

Although players can kill each other, there is no player elimination as players may draw a new captain (with a penalty) so it's possible to come back from defeat.Merchants & Marauders lets you live the life of an influential merchant or a dreaded pirate in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy. Both careers are fraught with danger: pirates are hunted by NPCs (and other players) for their bounty and blocked to certain ports while traders are hunted by non-player pirates as well as their opponents and generally have to sacrifice combat capability for cargo capacity. Points due to gold are hidden so there's some uncertainty about when the game will end.Ī big component of the game is whether (or when) to turn "pirate" or remain as a trader or neutral party. While some points earned from performing various tasks are permanent, players earn points for amassing gold, which can be stolen or lost (or at least diminished) if their captain is killed. The goal is to be the first to achieve 10 "glory" points through performing daring deeds (through the completion of missions or rumors), crushing your enemies (through defeating opponents and NPCs in combat), amassing gold, performing an epic plunder or pulling off the trade of a lifetime, and buying a grand ship. Garageband ringtone template3/4/2023 ![]() (If you go that last route, you still get to select whether to use the song as a ring- or text tone after choosing which contact to assign it to.)Īpple sells ringtones from popular music in the iTunes Store. Tap that, and you can select whether to use your freshly-recorded song as a Standard Ringtone, Standard Text Tone (for SMS and iMessage notifications, new email alerts, or anything else that can sound a system notification of some sort), or choose to Assign it to a specific contact. If you tap OK, you can find the ringtone in your iOS devices sound settings, but GarageBand offers up a shortcut: the Use Sounds As button. When you continue, GarageBand should tell you that the ringtone was successfully exported and also that a backup of your song will be available via iTunes File Sharing. On the Export Ringtone screen, provide a name for your jingle. Scroll down in the subsequent screen and choose Ringtone (the only option under Share Song As). Tap to select your song if necessary, and then tap the Share icon at the upper left. From the My Songs list, tap and hold on your recording, or tap the Edit button at the upper right your songs will start jiggling like homescreen icons youre rearranging. Once youre happy with your new song, tap to go back into your My Songs list of recordings. If your song is shorter, your ringtone will play it as a loop. If you choose to destroy them, Shane dies in space. Shane’s proximity to Phobos and Deimos, the moons that housed the Dreamers, helped awaken them though indications are they would have awoken soon anyway. The chaos inflicted by The Filth meant Orochi had little chance of stopping Cynthia though whether The Filth was sentient enough to do this on purpose is not explained. But they did recruit Shane for the Mars mission because of his Necromicon exposure. The Orochi Group had no interest in waking the Dreamers, though they did see Cynthia’s discoveries as a way of acquiring more power. Because of the eldritch taint he’d received from the Necronomicon, his touch was enough to permanently damage the machine that would have restrained the Dreamers, ancient beings that were slumbering inside Mars’s moons. His mother Cynthia, who was trapped between dimensions, wanted to wake them to free herself.Ĭynthia never recovered she was just pretending to be back to ‘normal’ to get Shane to use the Martian machine. Shane was instrumental in waking the Dreamers because, at an early age, he was exposed to the Necronomicon, giving him the scars on his right hand. ![]() The game’s ending is a little confusing, so let us explain what it all means. Lovecraft, the mythos that Moons of Madness emulates, you can tell that things aren’t going to end well. It sees you struggling to combat an eldritch force that corrupts everything it touches, as well as the possible return of two ancient, eldritch gods. Instead, it’s a single-player space-based horror game set in the same universe as Funcom’s MMO ‘The Secret World’. Moons of Madness is not, despite the game’s title, a game where, playing as Cthulhu, you go around pressing your naked backside against glass-fronted skyscrapers. Confused by Moons of Madness’s ending? Here’s what it means – with spoilers, naturally.

Luc thinks he's won, but Addie knows that her new deal only requires her to stay with him for as long as he desires. He publishes the book, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, as fiction and without an author. Henry lives and writes a book based on the stories that Addie has told him. In the present, Addie learns that Henry's deal was only for a year. He says it requires her to surrender, and Addie lashes out at him and they fight. In 1980, Addie asks Luc to release her from her deal. They end up in an affair which lasts for years, and Addie falls for him. When he comes to visit in 1952, he admits to wanting her. She finally uses it in 1944 when she gets captured during WWII. In 1914, Luc admits to liking Addie's company and gives her a wooden ring so she can call on him. Addie accuses him of being lonely and in want of company. He occasionally will rescue her from a sticky situation, claiming he wants to be the one to break her. Addie travels across Europe, with Luc visiting usually on July 29, but he skips some years. Meanwhile, in the past, the book describes Addie and Luc's relationship over the course of over a hundred years from the 1700s to the end of the 1800s. Henry begins to write down Addie's story, with Addie dictating. He realizes that people love him, but they also don't really see him. After getting his heartbroken, he asks to be loved in exchange for his soul. To her surprise, Henry admits to Addie that he, too, made a deal with the devil a year ago. When Henry's friends don't recognize her, Addie tells him the truth about her bargain with the devil. In present day, Addie sees Henry again, who recognizes her, and they go on a date. Addie learns to survive and navigate her new world. He takes on the form and name, Luc, of an imaginary stranger Addie once daydreamed about. The devil appears yearly, each time asking Addie if she's ready to relinquish her life and her soul. She walks into a used bookstore to steal a book, but is caught by the clerk, Henry. The exception is a wooden ring, which she cannot get rid of. She also cannot keep a home or keep possessions. She can't give people her real name or tell her story. In present day, Addie survives by stealing and sneaking into others' apartments to sleep. As soon as she leaves their sight, they forget her.
